Pastor Nicole Melara was born in Easton, PA, but grew up in the Poconos. She is a graduate of East Stroudsburg University where she earned a BA in Sociology and Anthropology. Her love of art history prompted her to pursue a MA in History from the University of Scranton. Having felt called to ministry at the age of 15, and after a number of years struggling with that call, Nicole finally accepted God's whispers (and occasional shouts) and began attending Moravian Theological Seminary in Bethlehem, PA. She graduated from Moravian in 2006, Magna Cum Laude, with a Masters in Divinities. Nicole began working at First Presbyterian Church in Easton, PA shortly after beginning seminary. Her initial placement there was part of the seminary's field placement curriculum. During the summer months, she served two seasons as a Campground Chaplain for Pocono Area Leisure Ministries, a program conducted by the Pocono Synod of the Lutheran Church. Upon graduating, she accepted the position of full time Coordinator of Youth, Family, and Educational Ministries at First Presbyterian in Easton, where she most recently served.
